On 12 March 2010 Representative of Ukraine to the EU, Ambassador Andri Veselovsky met with representatives of the European Brussels based media.
A.Veselosky briefed the journalists on the results of the visits of President Viktor Yanukovych to Brussels and to Moscow and informed about formation of a new government in Ukraine.
The Ambassador emphasized that the European integration remained the top priority of Ukrainian foreign policy. It was stressed that first concrete steps toward this goal would be finalization of negotiations on the Association Agreement and the FTA, elaboration and fulfillment of the Road Map of visa free regime for the citizens of Ukraine.
During the meeting the parties also discussed energy security, prospects of Ukraine’s accession to the Energy Community Treaty, and priorities of the new government of Ukraine in particular regarding the preparation of a realistic state budget bill and renewal of cooperation with the IMF.
