Oksana Diakun joined the Mission of Ukraine to the EU as Deputy Head of Mission in January 2024.

Prior to her arrival in Brussels, she served for more than four years at the Office of the President of Ukraine, including as Deputy Head of Department for Foreign Policy and Strategic Partnership (2021-2023).

Since joining the Ukrainian diplomatic service in 2000, she worked in various fields, notably European integration, security policy, Ukraine´s bilateral relations with key partners in Europe and beyond.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, she worked as counsellor in the Cabinet of the Minister (2012-2015), counsellor in the Directorate General for the European Union (2010-2012) as well as held various posts in the Information Policy Department (2003-2005).

Her postings abroad included Ukraine's Mission to the EU (2015-2019), the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Spain (2006-2010) and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Cuba (2000-2002).

Oksana Diakun holds a Master’s degree in Romance and Germanic languages and literature from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (1998).

In 2003, she completed the course on political analysis at the University of York (Toronto, Canada) and in 2013, the European Training Course at Geneva Centre for Security Policy.

She speaks Spanish, English, French, and Italian.
