The President of Ukraine signed an Act of Oblivion for former Minister of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lutsenko and former Minister of Environment Protection Heorhiy Philipchuk

Respective propositions have been submitted to the President by the Commission on Pardon under the President of Ukraine.
The President initiated reformation of criminal and criminal procedure legislation aimed at humanization of legal rules and reduction of the number of people held in custody.
The President received request for pardon of Y. Lutsenko from Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights V. Lutkovska.
Also, Observation mission of the European Parliament consisting of Pat Cox and Aleksander Kwaśniewski addressed the President with the same request.
