Today at a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation headed by First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov with the EU Commissioner for Trade Carl de Gucht the prospects of establishing a deep and comprehensive free trade area with the EU and how to solve existing problems in the sphere of trade between parties have been discussed. Serhiy Arbuzov said that some sensitive issues in trade relations for the EU should not in any way be a deterrent for the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association.
It was stressed the readiness in a short period of time to find the conjunction with the European side mutually acceptable solution to their resolution.
The parties also paid attention to the progress in the implementation of the Ukrainian side reforms envisaged in the agenda on EU-Ukraine Association.
During the meeting the issue of preparation for the implementation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area with the EU was raised.
Among other issues discussed during the meeting there were the importance of a strong information campaign among Ukrainian and European businesses on the practical operation of the FTA. Special attention was paid to the Government of Ukraine’s steps aimed at improving the business climate.
Serhiy Arbuzov invited EU Commissioner to visit Ukraine soon. The invitation was accepted with gratitude.
April 29, 2013 the First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov stays in Brussels, on his first official visit. The delegation includes Minister of Finance of Ukraine Yuriy Kolobov, Minister of Incomes and Fees of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Mykola Udovychenko, Government Commissioner for European Integration Valeriy Pyatnytskyi.
