The parties confirmed mutual readiness to achieve success during the Eastern Partnership Summit and make every effort to sign the Association Agreement. Serhiy Arbuzov and Štefan Füle discussed progress in implementation by Ukraine of agreements achieved by leaders of Ukraine and the EU during the summit held on February 25, 2013. The First Vice Prime Minister informed his interlocutor about the course of realization of reforms in economic and financial sector, in particular in the context of reforming a system of management state finances, measures directed to improvement of business climate.
There was held exchange of thoughts concerning an impact of introducing a free trade area with EU on macrofinancial and economic situation in Ukraine. With the view to the scale of future transformations, the First Vice Prime Minister drew attention of the Commissioner to the need to start within nearest time consultations concerning consolidation of resources directed to the support of Ukraine in implementation of regulations of the free trade area with the EU.
The meeting also concerned an issue of effective use of budget support of the EU rendered to Ukraine to carry out reforms pursuant to the European standards.
Moreover, Serhiy Arbuzov and Štefan Füle discussed the development of internal political situation in Ukraine and touched upon issues of a free-visa dialog between Ukraine and EU.
On April 29, 2013 First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov stays on his first working visit to Brussels. The delegation of Ukraine consists of Finance Minister Yuriy Kolobov, Minister of Incomes and Fees Olexandr Klymenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk, deputy head of National Bank of Ukraine Mykola Udovychenko, Government Commissioner for European integration Valeriy Pyatnytskyi.
