Participants discussed progress in implementing reforms in Ukraine and confirmed the commitment aimed at signing the Association Agreement at the Vilnius summit of "Eastern Partnership" in November. Parliamentarians agreed that the Association Agreement should be seen as a tool for modernization of Ukraine in line with European standards in all spheres of public life, including in the context of further consolidation in Ukraine the common values of democracy and the rule of law.
Attention during the debate was paid to the prospects of deepening economic integration between Ukraine and the EU after the launch of a deep and comprehensive free trade area as provided by the Association Agreement.
The participants recognized the utility of mutual agreement to Ukrainian and European business as well as in terms of economic growth and welfare of the citizens of Ukraine and EU in general. In this context, they stressed the necessity to start the provisional application of the Association Agreement after its signiture.
The members also reviewed the results of the legislative activity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the context of the Action Plan on Visa Liberalisation and expressed hope for Ukraine's transition to the final phase of its implementation on the basis of the Vilnius summit of "Eastern Partnership". In this regard, they stressed the importance of constructive and stable work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
