Ukraine intends to remove all obstacles on the way of the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. This was started by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov during a meeting with EU Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht in Brussels

"The conclusion of the Association Agreement with the EU will become a catalyst for further wide-ranging reforms, strengthening democratic development and the rule of law. Ukraine undertakes an unprecedented amount of liabilities. And we are actively preparing for their implementation," Serhiy Arbuzov said.

"We are aware great amount of work that must be done, and hope that the EU provide support as in the framework of technical assistance and as in the framework of financial programs of the promotion of specific sectors of the economy," the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine noted.

Serhiy Arbuzov also said that the Prime Minister of Ukraine ahs signed a Development Strategy of public financial management; the EU associates the further cooperation with Ukraine in the financial sector with this document. He hoped that our state would get in the foreseeable future the next tranche of sector budget support programs.

"With the low rate of the world economy the Government is working primarily on finding the internal stimulus to revive the economy of Ukraine. Systematic work is underway to liberalize the tax and customs systems, deregulation of business, energy efficiency, overcoming the energy dependence. We focus on small and medium-sized businesses, which form, as we well know, in Western Europe, an average of 80% of GDP," Serhiy Arbuzov said.

The Government also is working on further improving the investment climate and associates it with the DCFTA with the EU. Then will be introduced the European standards, removed trade barriers, expanded export markets of goods and services, increased imports of innovative technologies and much more.
