Further dialog between representatives of Ukrainian Government and the European Union will afford to fulfill the task of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and sign the Association Agreement with the EU in the near future
The First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov announced in Brussels after negotiations with European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle.
“The Ukrainian Government has prolonged the negotiations with the EU leaders concerning settlement of problem issues on the way towards implementation of Ukraine – EU Association Agreement and creating of FTA. We are grateful for an open and efficient dialog which was conducted with the European Commissioner Štefan Füle. I believe that our joint work will end in complete understanding and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will fulfill the task set by the President of Ukraine to create conditions for signing the Association Agreement in the near future,” Serhiy Arbuzov said.
The First Vice Premier also informed that representatives of the EU had assured the door to the European Union remained open for our country.
He added that in the course of the negotiations with the European Commissioner Štefan Füle there had been also discussed introduction of mechanisms of mitigation the risks for Ukraine on the way of integration and elaboration of the document that is to determine the steps made by Ukraine on the eve of signing the association and after implementation of it as well.
“I want to assure Ukrainian people once again that the negotiations are going on and our country will come to the historical moment of signing the Association Agreement with the EU, taking into account the strategic national interests,” Serhiy Arbuzov said.
