We will be ready to ink an economic part of the Agreement with the EU after the presidential elections in Ukraine, but in fact we already now begin the process of economic changes said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk to reporters at the end of EPP Summit in Brussels Thursday, March 20.
The signature of the political part of the Association Agreement with the European Union scheduled on March 21.
Arsenii Yatseniuk stressed that the signature of the Agreement is de facto recognition of the fact thatUkraine becomes a part of the united European area: "It one of the most important first steps to acquiring in the future of Ukraine's membership in the European Union."
"We are sign the political part tomorrow. Parliament will ratify it and Ukraine is de facto and de jure a part of the large European area. Millions of the Ukrainians who have revolted for their European future, will feel that we become a part of the future and we will make this future together," Mr. Yatseniuk said.
According to him, it was made "the only right decision to sign first of all the political agreement, so to get from the EU an open market for Ukrainian goods and again to consult on the opening of the Ukrainian market for European goods in Ukraine and in Europe and then to ink the second part."
He noted that these consultations needed to remove any warning "especially those that were in the East (of Ukraine - ed.) regarding the negative impact from the economic part of the Agreement."
The Prime Minister also added that the possibility of entering on the European market and non-payment of the relevant import duties will enable Ukrainian economy to get more than $ 400 million (for the first year - ed.).
