We need to save the country in today's economic and political conditions. So, I promise improvement neither today nor tomorrow. But we know that thanks to this Agreement after tomorrow we will have a European future, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk said to reporters after a summit between Ukraine and the EU in Brussels, where the ceremony of signing of the political part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU Friday, March 21.
Arsenii Yatseniuk said that the signing of the political part of the Association Agreement with the EU is a "very important step, the first step so that Ukraine became a full member of the EU."
"We are facing incredible challenges, and we must now work very hard indeed to bring these changes to Ukraine. So that Ukrainian will felt that life changes for the better, Ukraine has independent courts, corruption will be overcome and there will workplaces," the Prime Minister stressed.
He said that the signed today the political part of the Association Agreement applies to the "most important aspect, especially cooperation in security and defense."
"In accordance with the Agreement a joint decision-making body will be set, which will provide real reform process in Ukraine," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister also noted that the one-side introduction of trade measures by the European Union, in particular the opening of the EU market for Ukrainian goods will give a major boost for the Ukrainian economy: "We will additionally receive about 490 million Euros."
