At the inaugural meeting of the Association Council of Ukraine and the EU in Brussels on Monday, December 15, the Ukrainian delegation raised the issue of violation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from the Russian authorities as well as pressure on the Crimean Tatars. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated this at a press conference following the meeting. "We raised the issue of the Crimean Tatars, because we have strong signals and evidence that the Russian government is brutally violating human rights in Crimea and the Crimean Tatars are under constant pressure," the Prime Minister of Ukraine said. Moreover, he said at the meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council that the Ukrainian delegation appealed to limit investment in respect of Crimea from the EU Member States. "We have also asked for legal assistance in order to bring Russia to justice for the annexation of Crimea", Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized.
