On Monday, December 15 in the framework of the working visit to Brussels Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Donald Tusk. This is the first meeting of Arseniy Yatsenyuk with the newly appointed President of the European Council.
The PM of Ukraine informed Donald Tusk about the efforts taken by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to stabilize the financial-economic situation within the country and about the priority reforms being carried out by the new Government.
Peculiar attention during the meeting was paid to the situation in the East of Ukraine and counteraction to the Russian aggression.
The parties welcomed the start of the process of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU as a core tool to achieve the European future for Ukraine.
As was reported, through 15-16 December the Ukrainian delegation headed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk is staying on a working visit to Brussels to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Association Council between Ukraine and the European Union. The event concerns issues of joint counteraction to the Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine and illegal annexation of Crimea, support by the European Union of a reform program for the Ukrainian Government and execution of the Association Agreement with the EU, a progress in implementation by Ukraine of the conditions to introduce a free visa regime with the EU and energy security as well.
