In the course of the working visit to Riga, President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Werner Faymann and President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

The parties have discussed topical issues of the European integration, particularly the process of ratification of the Association Agreement with Ukraine.

The President has particularly emphasized the importance of receiving clear signals for the acquisition of the visa-free regime with the EU. The Head of State has called on the Austrian Chancellor and the President of the European Parliament to demonstrate unity and solidarity with Ukraine in its struggle for peace.

The parties have also negotiated the pace of reforms in Ukraine. The President has particularly noted the efforts aimed at deoligarchization, democratization and struggle against corruption.
