President Petro Poroshenko signed Law on Ratification of the Agreement with the EU Regarding Ukraine’s Participation in the Program “Horizon 2020”. Law №604-VIII was adopted by the Parliament on July 15.

The agreement was signed on March 20, 2015 in Kyiv.

Under the document, Ukraine becomes an associate member of the above mentioned program. As a result, Ukrainian scientists will receive real access to the program total assets of which constitute EUR 80 billion.

The implementation of the Agreement will facilitate broader participation of Ukrainian research institutions and universities in European scientific research, as well as promote comprehensive development of partnership relations between Ukraine and the EU.

The Head of State also signed Law on “Ratification of the Agreement (in the Form of Exchange of Notes) between Ukraine and the European Union on Restoration of the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Scientific and Technological Cooperation”. The Parliament adopted the given Law in July 15.

The agreement was signed on March 3, 2015 in Brussels. The document creates proper conditions for the efficient use of scientific-technical potential and protects the intellectual property.
