"We believe that the European Union would demonstrate the unity, that the sanctions will be extended, and that the issue of sanctions is directly linked to the full implementation by the Russian Federation of the Minsk agreement", stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Brussels on the outcomes of the meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council Monday, December 7th.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk highlighted that "Ukraine has complied with its part of the Minsk agreements". At the same time, he accentuated, that this morning there was information that Russia had resumed shelling of Ukrainian positions.
"We insist on execution by the Russian Federation of all requirements of the Minsk agreement. In the first place, it concerns full ceasefire, withdrawal of troops and regaining control over these territories, which are Ukrainian territories, [should be –ed.] controlled by Ukrainian authorities", stressed the Head of Government.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also added that Ukraine highly appreciates the stance of the European partners on non-recognition of illegal annexation of Crimea.
