On April 15 2016 the Representative of Ukraine to the EU Mykola Tochytskyi presented the credentials to the President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
In the framework of the meeting, which took place after the official ceremony, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of Ukraine – EU agenda, especially the implementation of the Association Agreement, Minsk agreements and the situation in the occupied Crimea.
In this context, the Representative of Ukraine to the EU noted that Ukraine expects the EU to support the full entry into force of the Association Agreement, despite the results of the recent referendum in the Netherlands.
European Council President D.Tusk congratulated Ukrainian people with the appointment of the new Government. The EU side confirmed the readiness to continue its active contribution to the restoration of peace and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the visa liberalization issue. Mykola Tochytskyi noted that by the end of April Ukraine awaits the relevant legislative proposal of the European Commission. D.Tusk expressed support for the introduction of visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
