Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Vice-President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič agreed to establish an expert group to improve opportunities of Ukraine to transport gas.
"We want to raise the role of Ukraine as a transit country and are ready to work together in this direction", said Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting in the framework of his working visit to Belgium on Tuesday.
He noted that the Ukrainian part of the group would be headed by the Naftogaz Chairman Andrii Kobolev.
In turn, Vice-President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič stressed his willingness to establish an expert group immediately. "In Europe there is the consensus regarding the use and maintenance of the gas transport system of Ukraine", said Maroš Šefčovič.
