Within the framework of the visit the participants had an opportunity to learn about activities carried out in the European Parliament, the NATO headquarters, to visit historical sites and monuments of Brussels. S. Patra and A. Skorospelova held meetings with the co-Chairman of the parliamentary Committee of the Association of EU and Ukraine A. Plenkovic, the co-Chair of the Greens in the EP Rebecca Harms, AFET Press Office representative G.Vilkas, the Representative of Ukraine to the EU M.Tochytskyi, the acting Head of Mission of Ukraine to NATO Yehor Bozhok.

During the visit to the European Parliament the winners of the competition attended an exhibition of a famous Ukrainian painter Ivan Marchuk “Genotype of Liberty”. Apart from that S.Patra and A.Skorospelova took part in the meeting of the Ukrainians in Belgium with I.Marchuk and the diplomatic reception on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine in the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium.

The contest “BeEuropean” was organized from the 13^thof Aprill till the 15^th of June in the social network Facebook. The organizers were the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, The Delegation of the EU to Ukraine, the office of the MEP Plenkovic, web portal “Evropejska pravda”, the radio station “Radio EU”. The aim of the project is to acquaint the citizens of Ukraine with the best experience of the EU countries in work, life and leisure.

Within the framework of the project the Facebook users spoke about what does it mean for them “to be European”, they shared their views regarding how a real European and a European country should look like. The main message of the project “A European country begins with you!”
