Festive ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the National Flag was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union. The Flag was raised in the presence of the Ukrainian diplomats, Ukrainian community in Brussels and the representatives of the mass media, while the National anthem of Ukraine was played.

“We were glad when Ukrainian aircraft “Mriya” was taking off accompanied by the Ukrainian anthem, our dream about free, democratic and European Ukraine was growing, we were proud when the Ukrainian yellow and blue flag was raised in honor of the victories of our athletes. However, it is difficult to realize that somebody can be tortured or imprisoned for the raising of the Ukrainian flag nowadays. Celebrating this day, I ask you to remember of those who defend this flag on the territories, which are temporarily not controlled by Ukraine – in Crimea and certain areas of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. I believe that sooner rather than later, the Ukrainian flag will be raised there as well" – said Roman Andarak, the acting Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union.
