Full integration of Ukraine into the Euro-Atlantic system is the greatest threat to Russian aggression - President about the NATO Summit in Brussels
09 July 2018 18:41

"My experience shows that nothing scares Russia more as our unity and determination. Full integration of Ukraine into the European and transatlantic systems is the greatest threat to Russian aggression," the President says to the Financial Times about the NATO Summit in Brussels and the importance of NATO and the EU for Ukraine.

Petro Poroshenko intends to "transform Ukraine's European aspirations into deeper alliances with the EU, starting with the digital market, customs cooperation and energy solidarity, and including the commitment of the European capitals to participate in the restoration of the cities of the Donbas". "Anything less would not compensate Ukraine for its victims and would not recognize its commitment to promoting democracy and European values," the Head of State added.

The President said that "over the past four years, we have gone further on the path of economic reforms than ever since independence".

"And this was done in conditions of external aggression. Any Western government carrying out reforms with such a degree and at such rates would face a decline in popularity. However, my Government will not refuse the chosen path. Reforms are irreversible," the President emphasizes.
