The President of Ukraine and the President of the European Council exchanged views on the ways to implement the agreements reached at the XX Ukraine-EU Summit.

The interlocutors discussed the security situation in the Donbas and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

The Head of State thanked for the EU decision to extend economic sanctions against Russia by January 31, 2019. They also called it necessary to intensify international efforts to protect Ukraine's interests from the illegal actions of the Russian Federation in the Sea of Azov.

The President of Ukraine once again called for the increased pressure on the Russian Federation aimed to immediately release all Ukrainian political prisoners, including Oleg Sentsov, Roman Sushchenko and Volodymyr Balukh.
