«Our position on preparations and conduct of the Ukraine-EU Summit was stated in my yesterday interview to «UNIAN» Ukrainian news agency.
It consists in the following: the Summit will take place as it is a regular event in the framework of Ukraine-EU dialogue on the highest level as established by Ukraine-EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. Its timing depends on the readiness of the parties and meaning content of the event. Both Kyiv and Brussels proceed from the premise that official contacts have to continue regardless.
I state with all the responsibility: there is no and there can be no linkage between holding the Summit and formation of a new Government in Ukraine, which allegedly would be brought about as a consequence of the parliamentary elections. I expect the EU officials to once again reiterate this position.
I urge all the parties to renounce politicizing the issue of the Summit. In my view, sensations chase shall also have its limits».
