On March 17, the inauguration of the Ukrainian Civil Society Hub took place at the premises at the European Parliament “Station Europe” on the Luxembourg square in Brussels.
The Ukrainian Civil Society Hub will highlight Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression and coordinate civil society initiatives aimed at supporting Ukraine.
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, Head of the Ukrainian Civil Society Hub Natalia Melnyk, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU Vsevolod Chentsov and Chairwoman of NGO Promote Ukraine Marta Barandiy opened the inauguration ceremony.
All the participants joined the appeal of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on a national every day minute of silence in Ukraine and honoured memory all Ukrainians perished due to the Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine.
Natalia Melnyk expressed sincere gratitude to the European Parliament, personally its President Roberta Metsola and MEPs for unprecedented support to Ukraine that goes beyond the traditional parliamentary activities.
“Today we stand against darkness and tyranny with freedom and dignity in our hearts. We fight to protect our homeland and European values”, - stated Natalia Melnyk.
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola handed over a symbolic key to the premises of the Station Europe building to Head of the Hub Natalia Melnyk, underlying that it will serve as a home away from home for Ukrainian civil society to provide a space for coordination, information and support.
