Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky met with the EU Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger.

They discussed the full range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the energy sector, and exchanged views on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the EU on energy cooperation, signing of which scheduled for 25 February
During the meeting the counterparts also talked about possible mechanisms for deepening of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the energy sphere, particularly in the framework of the Energy Community.
Minister E.Stavytsky and Commissioner Günther Oettinger discussed EU-Ukraine energy issues, including the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, reverse gas supplies from EU member states to Ukraine and prospects of shale gas in Ukraine.
Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine invited the Commissioner to visit Ukraine soon.
Both sides noted the successful cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of nuclear energy.
