A.Kluyev and K.De Gucht touched upon topical issues of trade cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. The parties shared a common vision that it is necessary to agree on the ways to settle existing problems in trade relations in order to prevent their possible negative repercussions on the signature of the Association Agreement.

The counterparts focused on the information campaigning actions planned by the Ukrainian side and the EC with a view to illustrate main aspects of the functioning of the deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU. According to A.Kluyev, informing entrepreneurs from Ukraine and the EU member states at length about different aspects and stages of the establishment of the FTA will allow to obtain maximum mutual benefit and give an impetus to development of our economies in mid-term perspective.

In Brussels A.Kluyev is set to meet with European Parliament President M.Schulz, heads of EP Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, former Presidents A.Kwasniewski and P.Cox, and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and ENP S.Füle.

By President’s Decree n.127/2013 of 12 March 2013, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kluyev was appointed as coordinator for the governmental authorities activities in the field of European integration and cooperation with the EU institutions.
