Mr.L. Kozhara informed MEPs of the progress made by Ukraine in implementing the system reforms in the context of signing EU-Ukraine Association Agreement at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.
Mr. L.Kozhara noted that within three months after the 16th EU-Ukraine Summit, Ukrainian authorities had taken concrete steps in reforming the judiciary system, improvement of electoral legislation as well as the implementation of other reforms under EU-Ukraine Association Agenda. The Minister also touched upon the measures aimed at reforming the public financial management system and the business climate improvement.
Special attention at the meeting was also paid to the visa liberalization issue.
Members of the European Parliament, in turn, assured the Ukrainian side of their support of European integration aspirations of Ukraine and the willingness to sign an EU- Ukraine Association Agreement in Vilnius. However, it was stressed that the final decision would be made based upon the estimation of Ukraine’s significant progress in the implementation of the Foreign Affairs Council Conclusions on December 10, 2012 and the agreements of 16th EU-Ukraine Summit in February.
