The meeting was attended from Ukrainian side by representatives of the State Agency on Science, Innovations and Informatization of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences and its leading institutions, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education, Public Service of medicines, leading scientific public research institutions. The European delegation included representatives from DG "Research and Innovation", "contact", "Transport" European Commission Project EIS "Inno-Energy" and “BILAT * Ukraina”. A special guest at the meeting was Minister-Counsellor, Head of department of aid programs in Ukraine Andrew Rasbash.

The meeting was opened by Borys Gryniov, who stressed the importance of cooperation on certain areas that will help to systematically and consistently develop the relations between Ukraine and the EU. During the event, participants exchanged information on current status and prospects of scientific and technological cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.

There were also the consultations on the terms of Ukraine's participation in the new Framework Programme for Scientific and Technological Development and Innovation Horizon 2020. During the consultations, the Ukrainian side proposed to consider establishing mechanisms for co-financing of joint projects in narrow areas of interest to the European Commission and Ukraine.
