Special attention was paid to the interaction made by experts in order to reduce supply and demand for drugs in the EU and the Eastern Partnership The delegation of Ukraine headed by the counselor of Head of Ukraine State Service for Drug Control, Doctor of Law V.Yaschenko took part in the meeting of experts on drug control in the format of the EU -member states - "Eastern Partnership" countries
The event was attended also by representatives of Lithuania's presidency of the EU Council, relevant departments of the European Commission, the EU Lisbon Monitoring Centre for Drugs (EMCDDA), European External Action Service, the EU member states and other countries of "Eastern Partnership" - Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia , Georgia and Moldova.
During the meeting the sides discussed the drug situation in Europe, including the Eastern Partnership countries. Special attention was paid to cooperation in order to reduce supply and demand for drugs.
The EU side informed the partner countries on the EU Strategy for Drug Control for the period 2013-2020, which determines the main directions of preventive work of the Member States and the tools that will be implemented this strategy and action plan for the implementation of this strategy for the period 2013 - 2016
The EaP countries informed EU side on the progress made in the development and implementation of national strategic documents on drug control and international cooperation in combating illicit drugs.
The delegation of Ukraine reported on the status of implementation of the Action Plan 2011-2015 of the implementation of the concept of public policy in combating the spread of drug addiction, combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors 2011-2015
Following meeting stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the EU and the countries of "Eastern Partnership" in order to ensure an effective response to the spread of drugs.
