Approaching the Vilnius "Eastern Partnership" summit the key attention during the visit was paid to Ukraine's progress in addressing the Association Agreement criteria.

While informing about the current results of the reforms, the Secretary of National Security and Defence Council as well as stressed on the following steps of Ukrainian authorities, including the reformation of the judicial system, improvement of electoral legislation and anti-corruption measures.

The European Parliament representatives welcomed the progress in the reforming efforts of the Ukrainian authorities to align the country with European standards. In this context, European side noted that the unity of the Ukrainian government and opposition around the european agenda is an important asset in the context of addressing the Association Agreement criteria.

Andryi Klyuyev also expressed hope that the European Parliament would rapidly give its consent to the temporary application of the Association Agreement, including a deep and comprehensive free trade area, after it is signed.
