During the meeting the parties discussed the preparation for the Vilnius Summit of the “Eastern Partnership”, as well as the further developments of the regarded initiative.

The participants stressed that signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and initialing similar agreements with Georgia and Moldova would become the real accomplishment not only of the Vilnius Summit, but the “Eastern Partnership” as a whole.

Andrii Olefirov drew attention to the post-Vilnius challenges that await EaP countries in regard of the entering into force of AAs, including deep and comprehensive FTAs. He stressed that the sufficient financial expert and technical assistance from the EU need to be ensured to the EaP countries in order of proper implementation of the agreements. He believes that the future Joint Declaration of the Summit is to take into account new realities of cooperation and be aimed at further deepening of bilateral relations between the EaP countries and the EU as well as multilateral cooperation within the “Eastern Partnership”.
