In the course of the conversation in the Presidential Administration, the parties have discussed the ways of settling the internal political situation in Ukraine on the basis of mutually acceptable compromise, broad dialogue between the government, the opposition and the civil society, common efforts aimed at stabilization of the situation and abstinence from the use of violent methods.
According to him, for this end, positions of the government, the opposition and the NGO representatives should be coordinated. "The government is open for dialogue," Andriy Kliuyev stressed.
"The main thing today is to appease society and stop confrontation. In no way can we allow bloodshed. Both parties understand that. After the situation is stabilized, Ukraine should continue the European integration," he said.
Deputies of the European Parliament reaffirmed high attention of the EU to the developments in Ukraine and expressed readiness to facilitate peaceful settlement of the situation. In this context, Elmar Brok welcomed recent decisions of the Verkhovna Rada on the abolition of several laws of January 16, 2014 as a step towards overcoming the crisis.
