President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has held a meeting with Vice-President of the European Commission - High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.

The parties have discussed the ways to stabilize the political situation in Ukraine, the course of economic reforms and the measures to strengthen democratic institutes. They have stressed the necessity of guaranteeing security of citizens and ensuring objective, transparent and unbiased investigation into the recent resonant events. Also, the parties have discussed the prospects of holding the constitutional reform.
