The final meeting in a trilateral format of Ukraine, the European Union and Russia on energy issues was held on Thursday, 30 October, in Brussels. It was launched on May 2, 2014 in Warsaw.
The Ukrainian delegation headed by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan, the delegation of the European Commission - Vice-President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger, the Russian side - Minister of Energy Minister Alexandr Novak.
The meeting was also attended by Vice-President of the European Commission's Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič.
The outcomes of the consultations have been recorded in the following documents:
- Binding Protocol regarding the conditions for gas delivery from Russia to Ukraine for the period from November 2014 to 31st of March 2015, signed by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan, Minister of Energy of the RF A.Novak and Vice-President of the EC Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger.
- Supplement 33 to the contract № KP dated 19 January 2009 between NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy and OJSC Gazprom for gas supply during 2009-2019, signed by CEO of Naftogaz A.Kobolyev and Gazprom CEO A. Miller.
- Letter by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso to President of Ukraine P.Poroshenko secured guarantees from the European Commission as to Ukraine regarding financial support if Russia fails to fulfill its commitments regarding gas prices, as well as the willingness of the European Commission to contribute to the further increase of reverse gas supplies to Ukraine from EU member states.
