R.Chubarov informed MEPs about the aggression of Russian occupation authorities applying direct repression of the Crimean Tatar population of the peninsula.
The leader of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis called upon the EP deputies, to visit the Crimea, while not recognizing its annexation, in solidarity with the Crimean Tatars and in order to monitor the violations of human rights.
"I do not know how long the occupation will last, but Crimean Tatars are waiting for a miracle, they expect the international community to find the key to the situation and stop the unjust occupation" - said Mr. Chubarov.
The meeting was also attended by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine Valeriya Lutkovska. She informed in detail about the facts of disappearances and murders of Ukrainian activists, religious leaders and journalists in the Crimea and the Donbas.
"The "governments" of so called "DNR" and "LNR" are doing what is impossible to imagine in Europe in the 21st century, such as "marches of hostages", tying people to the pillory for the pro-Ukrainian position, brutal tortures", - said Ukrainian Ombudsman.
V. Lutkovska also paid particular attention of numerous facts of violations by the so-called "DNR and LNR authorities" the rights of orphans and children deprived of parental care.
