On 19 January 2015, Representative of Ukraine to the EU Kostiantyn Yelisieiev met with EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides.
The sides discussed issues related to the increase of volumes of the humanitarian aid to the affected population of Ukraine due to military action in eastern Ukraine, as well as the development of the specific humanitarian plan for Ukraine in the light of the European Parliament’s resolution of 15 January 2015.

Ambassador K.Yelisieiev also briefed Commissioner Ch.Stylianides on the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine of 18 January 2015 on the implementation of the Minsk agreements, circulated in response to the “peace plan,” proposed by the Russian Federation. He also provided the EU Commissioner with an updated list of priority humanitarian needs of the civilian population of Ukraine during winter season.
“Humanitarian aid and support of the European Union to Ukraine should be more tangible and targeted,” said the Commissioner. He confirmed the willingness to mobilize additional efforts of the EU and EU Member States to increase targeted humanitarian aid to the Donbas. In this regard, Ch.Stylianides expressed willingness to pay his first visit to Ukraine next week.
