On 21 January 2015, the final stage of the Ukrainian Eurorace took place in Brussels, within the framework of which the symbolic euroball was transferred to Member of the European Parliament, Co-Chair of the Ukraine-EU Parliamentary Association Committee, Deputy Chairman of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee Andrej Plenković.
The all-Ukrainian campaign, which was launched in Kyiv on 1 November 2014 on the occasion of the start of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, is aimed at demonstrating the advantages of the enhanced cooperation with the European Union to the Ukrainian society.
Playing with the euroball symbolizes the European integration of Ukraine and the EU’s commitment to support and assist in the implementation of key internal reforms. The first city that has taken the race was Kyiv, afterwards similar events were held in 10 cities of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Odesa, Mykolaiv, etc. On 23 December, the first stage of the campaign was completed: the euroball was transferred to Brussels, to the Mission of Ukraine to the EU.
Diplomats, famous Ukrainian politicians, journalists and NGO activists took an active part in the events within the framework of the Ukrainian Eurorace, during which everyone could receive the booklets from organizers indicating benefits of the European integration.
