Within the framework of his official visit to Brussels, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with the leadership of the Informal Group “Friends of European Ukraine” in the European Parliament.
The Parties discussed the situation in Ukraine, ways of solving problematic issues, possibilities of providing humanitarian and expert assistance to out state, as well as support in the framework of interparliamentary cooperation.
Communicating with journalists after the meeting, Volodymyr Groysman said that “these are people from different countries, however, they are at one with us. They understand the present-day Ukrainian situation.”
Volodymyr Groysman said that during the meeting he stressed “we ask for the support of the peacekeeping mission.” He stressed “the pressure on Russia should not be alleviated”. Ukraine should be provided with defensive weapons which “will allow us not to deliver an attack but to defend ourselves.”
Within the framework of the visit, Volodymyr Groysman gave an interview to European Parliament television and Euronews TV channel.
