The current year should become a year of reforms in Ukraine. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this during the meeting with Chairman of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Elmar Brok in Brussels.
At the beginning of the meeting Volodymyr Groysman thanked Mr. Elmar Brok for supporting Ukraine. He stressed that developments in the East are “the challenge to its independence.” At the same time, he noted that Ukraine “faces also internal challenges – the necessity of carrying out reforms.”
In this context, Chairperson of the Parliament informed that Ukraine has already made several important steps on the way to combating corruption, restoring trust in courts, and decentralization of authority. “My task as the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine lies in ensuring that the Parliament is a driver of reforms and a locomotive of changes,” he underlined.
In his turn, Mr. Elmar Brok claimed supporting Ukraine, particularly, implementation of internal reforms. “I know that you are among those willing to carry out reforms,” he said, addressing Volodymyr Groysman.
