The European Parliament held a special hearings on human rights violations in the eastern Ukraine and Crimea.
On June 17 the European Parliament held a special hearing on the severe human rights situation in Crimea and the Donbas, which was the direct result of Russian aggression against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
Representative of Ukraine to the EU Kostiantyn Yelisieiev, who took part in the event, drew the attention of MEPs to numerous violations of human rights in certain territories of Ukraine, which is currently under occupation.
Kostiantyn Yelisieiev reminded the audience that today was one year after illegal detention of Nadiya Savchenko. In this regard, he urged European politicians once again to turn to the Kremlin demanding the release of N.Savchenko, that would also be a step towards the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.
Ukrainian diplomat stressed that the settlement of the current situation directly depends on how quickly we could stop the Russian aggression and restore the rule of law in Europe.
