The Representative of Ukraine to the EU called the scheduled visit of MEP Miloslav Ransdorf to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea discrediting for the European Parliament
In connection with information on the intention of MEP from the Czech Republic Miloslav Ransdorf to visit the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, Representative of Ukraine to the EU Kostiantyn Yelisieiev called upon President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz to respond appropriately to such actions.
Given that such a visit discredits the position of the European Parliament involving the consistent support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, Kostiantyn Yelisieiev expressed hope that the intention of MEP would be properly assessed by the leadership of the EP.
"It is obvious that this visit does not represent the official position of the European Union, but it will be actively used by Russian occupying authorities and propagandists for their own purposes," emphasized the Representative of Ukraine to the EU.
