Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels on Tuesday.
The sides discussed the priority issues of Ukraine-EU agenda. Volodymyr Groysman called on Donald Tusk to join the decision-making process to ensure faster introduction of a visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine, the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, the signing of the Agreement on Common Aviation Area between Ukraine and the EU.
"Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary criteria for visa liberalization", said the Prime Minister.
The top officials of Europe and Ukraine also focused on the situation in the East of Ukraine and the implementation of Minsk agreements. Volodymyr Groysman informed about the measures regarding the realization by Ukraine of its political commitments under the Minsk agreements.
In this context, Prime Minister thanked for the adoption on July 1 of an EU's decision to extend economic sanctions against the Russian Federation until January 31, 2017. "Sanctions against Russia are in effect. They must act until the full implementation by the Russian Federation of the obligations under the Minsk agreements", said Volodymyr Groysman.
President of the European Council Donald Tusk assured in full support by the leadership of the EU institutions for Ukraine on its path of reforms and praised the work of the Ukrainian Government in its first 100 days of activities.
