At a meeting on Friday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine observed a minute of silence in memory of a well-known journalist Pavlo Sheremet.
Opening the Government’s meeting, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman expressed hope that the law enforcement agencies would make every effort to faster solve the murder of Pavlo Sheremet and punish all those responsible.
"I would like the only thing – to ensure that this investigation, its results, when possible, is made public, and to inform the society about what is happening in this case. It is a challenge for all Ukrainians, everyone in our state, the law enforcement, and therefore I believe that the security forces will spare no effort to solve this crime and to punish the guilty", said Volodymyr Groysman.
On behalf of the Government the Prime Minister expressed his condolences in connection with the horrible murder of renowned journalist and intellectual Pavlo Sheremet at the downtown.
The Head of Government noted that an interdepartmental group of law enforcement agencies had been set up and foreign security agencies had been engaged to investigate the crime. "I am well aware that law enforcement officers these days are wide awake in order to do this hideous homicide case, and feel their responsibility to complete it as soon as possible", he told.
