In the framework of her visit to Brussels Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze held a meeting with European Commissioner for the portfolio of Better Regulation, Inter-Institutional Relations, Rule of Law and Charter of Fundamental Rights Frans Timmermans.
The sides discussed perspectives of ratification of Ukraine – EU Association Agreement in the context of results of the Dutch Association Agreement referendum and shared their views regarding possible solutions of the issue.
A special attention was paid to the implementation of the Visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine. Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze confirmed that all the requirements set out in the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan have been fulfilled and underlined the importance of completion of negotiations and procedures in the EU for visa-free regime implementation for Ukrainians.
Frans Timmermans reiterated the firm position of the European Commission with regard to fulfillment by Ukraine of its commitments under the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan and reaffirmed the full support of the EU for prompt introduction of visa-free regime.
Some other pertinent issues concerning the EU-Ukraine relationship were discussed, namely strengthening of bilateral cooperation in different spheres.
