Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn during her working visit to Brussels.

The Deputy Prime Minister praised the European Commissioner for the strong and continuous support of Ukraine on the way of reforms. The European Commissioner, in turn, drew attention to the need for the consolidation of all the branches of the Ukrainian government in implementing horizontal reforms.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, among other things, informed the Commissioner about the state of consideration and approval of legislation on the creation of an anti-corruption court by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The European Commissioner confirmed his participation in the second conference in support of reforms in Ukraine, which is scheduled to take place in Copenhagen at the end of June.

The revitalization of activities within the framework of the bilateral association enteties in order to establish a clear agenda for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU was also discussed during the meeting.

The parties discussed the security situation in Ukraine in the context of the Russian Federation's aggression on its territory. May by far was the worst month of the year in the number of victims caused from multiple shellings initiated by the aggressor. Ukraine hopes for further support and unity of the EU in extending and strengthening sanctions against Russia.

Taking into account the financial needs of Ukraine in the context of external commitments and implementing reforms, Ukraine expects a balanced decision on the fourth EU macrofinancial assistance program in the amount of 1 billion euro.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze further thanked the European Commissioner for the support of the non-governmental sector of Ukraine. In this context, she praised the work of Ukrainian Think Tank located in Brussels, which facilitates the cooperation of Ukrainian experts with their counterparts from the European Union and provides a platform for joint action and cooperation. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister called on the Commission to take a more focused approach in supporting such organizations.
