On June 21-23, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalyk visited Brussels to participate in the High Level Political Dialogue "Electricity Sector Reform in Ukraine: Combining Energy Transition and European Market Integration" hosted by European Policy Center (EPC).
During the event the Minister informed about the approval of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035, the priorities of which are similar to the priorities of the EU in the field of energy, namely energy efficiency, development of renewable energy sources, integration of energy markets, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, etc.
According to the Minister, one of the main priorities for Ukraine is the full integration of the energy and gas market with the market of the EU.
Igor Nasalyk stressed that Ukraine is ready to make maximum efforts to intensify joint work within the framework of the Energy Union and supports the implementation of investment projects of the EU energy infrastructure. In this context he noted the cooperation with the EIB and the EBRD in the implementation of energy programs as well as the development of public-private partnerships, attraction of the state budget funds for energy sector modernization and acceleration of reforms. The event was attended by Vice-President of the European Commission on Energy Union M. Šefčovič, Head of DTEK M. Timchenko, representatives of the EC, EIB, Energy Community.
