The European Union is a key strategic partner of Ukraine in supporting the progress of reforms, protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state, and it is now clear that a successful Ukraine is an investment in the successful future of the whole of Europe. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said during a meeting with Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission. The meeting was held within the framework of the visit of the Head of Government to Brussels.

Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that Ukraine actively integrates into European space in a number of directions. Already, the share of the EU in trade turnover of Ukraine exceeds 42%. The reforms implemented in the economy, public administration, including with the support of the European Union, add the strength to the economy of our country. Thus, the Ukrainian economy is demonstrating a growing trend for 11 quarters in a row. And this progress is a guarantee of positive decisions made by our country's partners on the disbursement of a financial support - in various forms. Such support allows us to pass peak payments on public debt of Ukraine and ensure the stability of the financial situation in the country.

"The core mission of the current Government, as I see that, is to ensure the irreversibility of the reforms that have already been launched", said Volodymyr Groysman. "And in the context of our cooperation, I consider the deepening of sectoral cooperation in the sectors of the digital economy, energy and trade liberalization as the topmost priorities."

The PM noted that now Ukraine and the EU have switched from the partnership and cooperation format to a clear and sustained dialogue format that allows us to focus on concrete actions.

For example, energy issues, according to the Head of Government, include the full integration of energy markets, the preservation of the role of the Ukrainian gas transit system as a prime tool for gas deliveries to European suppliers, and the continuation of reforms in the country's energy sector.

"We have good indicators of our bilateral trade. The EU is a strategic partner for us here. And Ukraine expresses the commitment to prolong sectoral reforms in order to integrate with European norms in this domain", accentuated Volodymyr Groysman.

According to the PM, the issue of counteraction to aggression is part of the cooperation agenda that includes not only the sanctions policy but also the prospects of development of areas neighboring the Azov Sea.

"We request to send a special preparatory or assessment mission to Ukraine, which, together with Ukrainian experts, would work on a specific package of projects on the implementation of infrastructure and social projects in the region of the Azov Sea", summed up Volodymyr Groysman.
