On 19 July 2012 Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Eduard Stavytskyi meti with EU climate change Commissioner Connie Hedegaard in Brussels.

Minister Stavytskyi and Commissioner Hedegaard had a constructive dialogue on implementation of second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol.

Ukrainian delegation assured that Ukraine is set to keep its pragmatic posision and informed about Ukraine’s readiness to take long-term commitments to decrease CO2 emisions by 2050 by 50% compared to the 1990 level.

The Minister invited EU Commissioner on climate change to pay a visit to Ukraine on her convenience.

While in Brussels, E.Stavytskyi met with State Secretary for Environment, Energy, Mobility of the Kingdom of Belgium M.Wathelet.
