Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine discussed Ukraine-EU relations with EU member states Foreign Ministers
On 31 January 2013 in Brussels Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara participated in the meeting with EU foreign ministers in the format "Ukraine + Group of Friends of Ukraine in the EU" organized by Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák. The meeting was attended by EU Commissioner for Enlargement and ENP Štefan Füle.
The meeting focused on the preparation for the XVI Ukraine-EU Summit to be held in Brussels on 25 February 2013 in the context of the Conclusion of the EU Foreign affairs council on Ukraine from 10 December 2012.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister briefed the heads of the EU member states foreign offices about the steps the Ukrainian government undertakes to implement the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR monitoring mission after the parliamentary elections in Ukraine of 28 October 2012. He also briefed about the prospects of implementation of the judiciary reform and key priorities of Ukraine in the fulfilment of the Ukraine-EU Association Agenda.
In turn, Commissioner Füle and EU foreign Ministers emphasized their support for the Ukrainian course for comprehensive approximation with the EU and reiterated their readiness to assist Ukraine in the process of preparations of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement for the signature by the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held on 28-29 November in Vilnius.
The meeting was attended by Ministers of the Slovak Republic, Latvia, Cyprus, Ireland, Lithuania, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Finland, Bulgaria, Malta and Croatia.
