Political Director of the MFA of Ukraine briefed European Parliament colleagues on the current situation in Russia-occupied Crimea and Donbas

On October 13, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affair of Ukraine Petro Beshta briefed our European Parliament colleagues on the current situation in Russia-occupied Crimea and Donbas.
Petro Beshta thanked the European Parliament for its firm and constant support in Ukraine’s struggle against the Russian aggression. He underlined the ongoing dire human rights and security situation in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.
Petro Beshta called on the European partners:

to uphold the non-recognition policy of Russia’s attempted annexation of Crimea;

to support Ukraine's efforts aimed at de-occupation of Crimea and Donbas;

to keep and enhance sanctions until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
He also encouraged the European Parliament to keep Crimea and Donbas on the EP’s agenda and to return the draft Resolution on Crimea for its further adoption by the member of the European Parliament.
International pressure and sanctions are the only tools that can make Russia return to the tenets of international law and stop its aggressive policy.
