Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the Ukraine-European Union Summit in Brussels on October 6

On October 6, 2020, the XXII Ukraine-European Union Summit will take place in Brussels.
This will be the EU's first bilateral summit with a partner country to be held in Brussels in the traditional "live" format since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ukrainian delegation to the Summit will be headed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the EU delegation will be headed by President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The leaders will discuss priority issues in Ukraine-EU relations, including further steps to implement the Association Agreement, deepening sectoral integration between Ukraine and the EU, cooperation in the context of overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and further EU support for Ukraine's reform process. Particular attention will be paid to the security situation in the Russian-occupied territories of Donbas, as well as to the ways to strengthen coordination between Ukraine and the EU in order to de-occupy Crimea and protect the rights of Crimeans.
Within the Summit, it is planned to sign a number of financial agreements between Ukraine and the EU under the European Neighborhood Instrument, in particular, to support eastern Ukraine, civil society and climate change mitigation.
It is also planned to sign agreements with the European Investment Bank, which provide for the attraction of funding to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings and ensure modernization and digitization of Ukrposhta.
